Let me say right at the start that this site will not be dealing with “signs” concerning the second coming of Jesus.
I think looking for signs can be sensationalism, and we do not desire to get sensational, which leads to emotional decisions, excitement without stability in God’s Word.
The thing today’s Christian should be concerned with is that Jesus said, “I will come again, and receive you unto Myself…” (John 14:3), and we are told in the book of Acts,
“…This same Jesus which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into heaven.” Acts 1:11 (KJV)
Are the signs of the times important? Most definitely; however, the Christian is to be looking for the Saviour Himself to come in the clouds.
That will be sensational.
The header picture of this site is of a battlefield where over 150 years ago the Confederate army met the Union Army in a battle during a war that has killed more soldiers than any battle in American history. That field is in Pea Ridge, Arkansas.
Yes, this site is about the second coming of Jesus Christ; and I use this intro to have you realize that the coming of the Lord, the Second Coming, will not be without conflict. There will be a battle when Jesus comes again to take the earth, and control over. The battle will be against those who hate God, who hate His Son and everything about godliness, holiness, righteousness and justice. The early stages of that battle are being fought today, and have been fought since the resurrection of Jesus by those who love Him. However, one day that battle will end when Jesus returns; the world of unbelievers will stand against Him, and with a breath from His mouth they will be defeated. Read Revelation 19.
It is mentioned “And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.” (Revelation 19:14). These are the saints which have been caught up to be with Him in heaven (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18). They have chosen to believe the word of the LORD, His Son, His death, burial and resurrection; and have followed Him on earth that they also may follow Him from heaven.
Will you do that today?
This is going to be a blog dedicated to the study of the second coming of Jesus Christ, Son of God; and God the Son. A second coming out of necessity causes us to realize their was a first coming. The first coming of Christ Jesus was as a baby in a manger, born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23).
The second coming of Jesus was foretold by a man named Enoch, from the book of Genesis 5:21-24; and reported to us by Jude, the half brother of Jesus.
“And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” Jude 14-15
The purpose of writing these studies will be to try and convince; by the word of God and the power of the Spirit of God; the hearts and minds of those who do not know Jesus to know Him before it is eternally too late.
He came the first time to die on the cross for our sins; He was buried in His death carrying away all our shame, our guilt, our condemnation, and death; and He arose bodily from that grave freeing all who believe in Him from sin’s and death’s bondage. He is coming again, with His saints – all those who have believed in Him down through the ages; to set the world right, to rule it with a rod of iron (see Psalm 2), and to put and end to evil.
Believe Him. He is coming.
